Our commitment
The Right Step Collective is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to make sure our website and services are usable by all families and providers we serve.
Conformance status
We aim to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
We work to meet this standard across our website. Some content may not yet fully conform, and we treat any gaps as bugs to be fixed.
What we do
- • Use semantic HTML and proper heading structure throughout the site.
- • Provide descriptive alt text for meaningful images.
- • Maintain sufficient color contrast for body text and interactive elements.
- • Ensure interactive elements are keyboard-accessible and clearly focused.
- • Label form fields and provide clear error messages.
- • Avoid relying on color alone to communicate information.
- • Test the site with screen readers and keyboard-only navigation.
Accessibility beyond the website
Accessibility is not just about pixels. If our intake form, phone process, or follow-up cadence isn't working for you, tell us. We are happy to take an intake by phone, send information in larger text, communicate in writing instead of by call, or work with an interpreter or advocate of your choice.
We also actively partner with providers whose programs serve children with a range of abilities and developmental needs.
Feedback and requests
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of The Right Step Collective. If you encounter accessibility barriers, please let us know:
- • Email: contact@therightstepcollective.com
We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within two business days and to resolve confirmed issues as quickly as we can.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is ongoing. As we add content and features, we test and refine to keep meeting our standard. If you notice something we can do better, we want to hear from you.
