Terms of Service
The agreement between you and The Right Step Collective.
Last updated: May 30, 2026
1. Who we are
The Right Step Collective ("we," "us," "our") is a local childcare placement service operating in the Greater Seattle Area. We connect families with licensed daycare providers and provide related support services.
2. Acceptance of these terms
By using our website, submitting an intake form, or otherwise engaging with our placement service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
3. Services we provide
For families: free, personalized matching with licensed childcare providers in our network, including intake review, provider introductions, and scheduled follow-ups during the first year of placement.
For providers: introductions to pre-screened families, optional priority listing, optional website and Google Business Profile setup, and optional program evaluation services. Fees for provider services are described on our For Daycares page and in the provider agreement.
4. No fees for families
Our placement service is and will remain free for families. We are paid by daycare providers when a placement is successfully made. Families never owe us any fee for our matching, introduction, or follow-up services.
5. Provider fees and agreements
Providers in our network sign a separate written agreement before any family introductions are made. That agreement governs placement fees, the 60-day replacement guarantee, payment timing, and other commercial terms. These Terms of Service supplement, but do not replace, that provider agreement.
6. No guarantee of placement or outcome
We work hard to match families with providers that genuinely fit their needs, but we do not guarantee that a placement will be made, that any specific provider will have availability, or that any particular outcome will result from a placement. We also do not operate the daycares in our network and are not responsible for the day-to-day care they provide.
7. Your responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate, complete information when submitting an intake form or otherwise communicating with us. You agree not to use our services to harass providers or families, to misrepresent your identity, or for any unlawful purpose.
8. Licensing and provider verification
We verify providers in our network against Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) licensing and inspection records before accepting them. However, licensing status, inspection findings, and program details can change. We encourage families to independently confirm a provider's current licensing standing before enrollment.
9. Intellectual property
All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, and the underlying design, is owned by The Right Step Collective or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
Our services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Right Step Collective and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of or relating to your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim arising from our services will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Right Step Collective from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your violation of these terms or your misuse of our services.
13. Non-discrimination
The Right Step Collective is an equal opportunity service committed to fostering an inclusive environment for all clients. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or age in any of our services.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, when appropriate, notify you by email. Continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington.
